Jacinto Santodomingo graduated in Optometry in Spain and then he moved to the UK to undertake an MSc followed by a PhD. In 2005 he joined Menicon Co., Ltd as Global Professional Relations Manager and later he was appointed Clinical Affairs Manager & Senior Research Scientist for the same company. His career goals include the development of products that satisfy market needs within the Ophthalmic / Pharmaceutical industry with an emphasis in those aimed at reducing myopia progression. In 2011, he received the prestigious Irving Fatt Memorial Lecture Award of the British Contact Lens Association. He is fellow of AAO and BCLA, and member of ISCLR. He has presented over 60 papers, posters and invited lectures at conferences worldwide and authored over 50 professional publications. His research interests include myopia, ocular biometry, the cornea and tear film, and different aspects of contact lenses.
